GRANT AWARD TESTIMONIAL
GIRL SCOUTS LAKES AND PINES
Dec. 2, 2020
Dear Rox Project S.A.V.E. Foundation,
With the support from the Rox Project S.A.V.E. Foundation Grant, the Girl Scouts Lakes and Pines served 149 Girl Scouts through four-day-long camps on August 22-25, 2020. After four months of virtual programming, we were so excited to help the girls have some summer fun before the school year began with a safe, in-person camp experience.
Over the four days, the girls were able to choose from a variety of standard camp activities like archery, swimming, fishing, and hiking, along with some more contemporary activities like tie-dying, duct tape boat races, robotics, and campfire cookery!
We are so grateful for the Grant as the funding provided allowed us to not only provide the standard camp and program supplies but also helped us in purchasing cleaning products and safety items for our campers as it relates to having in-person youth programming in time of COVID-19 preparedness. Many of our campers were excited to be back with Girl
Scouts in-person, in fact, one girl put on her evaluation that: “I had so much fun being back at camp. I didn’t think I was going to get to anything this summer and this let me have fun with my Girl Scout friends!”
Thank you again for your Foundation’s support. It truly made a difference in the lives of our Girl Scouts as they have navigated this difficult year.
Sincerely,
Becky Reynolds
