MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
SUICIDE PREVENTION NIGHT

On July 25, 2019, Marco, the St. Cloud Rox Baseball Club, and Rox Project S.A.V.E. Foundation, teamed up with the CentraCare Health Foundation for a first-ever Mental Health Awareness/Suicide Prevention Night fundraiser during a Rox home game played at Joe Faber Field.
The event was a major success, raising $28,000 for the charities. Following the game, Scott Roeder, the Vice President of Operations at Marco, stated: “There are functions within our community that support worthy causes such as cancer and hospice. But mental illness doesn’t have a Holly Ball or similar event. Marco wanted to champion an event that raises awareness, helps people recognize the signs and connect with resources if a family member or friend is struggling or if they, themselves, are having thoughts of suicide?”
Proceeds from the event were raised through corporate sponsorships of various game night promotions and contests, through the sale of Rox game tickets, a silent auction of Rox Team Jerseys worn during the actual game, and from various fundraising activities held at the Marco corporate office in St. Cloud.
